Chatter has it that Drake's upcoming More Life release will not only be a streaming-only release, but also sans any exclusivity.
According to HitsDailyDouble, More Life, which is being touted as a "playlist," will not have the Apple Music exclusive window. Without the exclusivity, that would mean Drake’s latest project would arrive on Spotify, Tidal, SoundCloud and other services. The potential move comes after it was reported last year that Universal Music Group and its subsidiaries would outlaw streaming 'exclusives' after Frank Ocean’s controversial releases of Endless and Blonde.
Last year, Drake's Views reached quadruple platinum after the RIAA confirmed four million copies of the album was sold in the U.S. The monster album also broke the one-week streaming record on a platform, generated a record of 245.1 million plays. To date, the album has spawned a colossal 3.016 billion streams.
With a March 18th release date for More Life, early projections for the project stand at 400,000 and about 600 million streams. Like he raps on "Sneakin'," for Drake, "this is all God's doing, man, you can't plan it."
