Jay Z to produce film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's 'In The Heights'

The rapper saw Miranda's latest stage smash 'Hamilton' in 2015.

Before Hamilton, there was Lin-Manuel Miranda's In The Heights, the play that opened on Broadway in 2008, followed characters of the titular largely Dominican-American New York City neighborhood, and went on to win four Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

And now that Jay Z has signed an exclusive film & television deal with The Weinstein Co., he's been getting his hands on the most coveted of projects.

After producing Time: The Kalief Browder Story, which premieres on Spike tomorrow, Jay's business partner/studio executive Harvey Weinstein confirmed during a pre-Oscars party on Saturday that the rapper will also be producing a film adaptation of Miranda's Heights, according to Page Six.
