Swizz Beatz has obviously already become one of the most successful producers of this generation and, with bountiful influence, one of his younger peers, Zaytoven, has paid close attention to how the Ruff Ryder hit-maker carved his own niche.

Zaytoven told REVOLT while visiting our offices, “When I think of Swizz Beatz, I think of DMX, Ruff Ryders, those type of guys. I feel like Swizz Beatz is one of those guys that created a sound. Nobody was doing the sound he came up with. Matter of fact, I don’t feel like nobody can even mimic his sound. I can’t even make no beat that sound like that. So, Swizz Beatz was definitely one of the people I looked up to. Always been a fan.”

Much like Swizz, Zay has mostly stayed away from sample when concocting maniacal offerings.

“So, that’s one of the guys that inspired me,” Zay added. “I wanted to be me. I wanted to come up with my own sound. Know when you hear Zaytoven or anybody that tries to sound like it, that’s Zaytoven sound. That’s what Swizz Beatz was to me. So unique. Had his own sound and whoever came out the camp, whoever he worked with, they had to have that sound. That’s what made them blow up the way they did. Shout out to Swizz Beatz.”
