After recently opening up about overcoming his struggles with addiction and depression, revealing to Rolling Stone that he once nearly overdosed on OxyContin, Timbaland is getting back to the music.
For his latest, the Grammy Award-winning producer teams up with Atlanta's fast-rising star 6LACK, today (Dec. 14) releasing their first collaboration, "Grab The Wheel."
The track, which was previously teased on Instagram back in August, pairs 6LACK's laid-back vocal stylings with Timbaland's top-tier production, making for a polished earworm sure to win over listeners from both artists' respective generations.
In addition to working on new music with other up-and-comers, such as Ski Mask the Slump God, Timbaland is also readying his next solo LP, which is set to be released next year and include guests such as Justin Timberlake, Rick Ross and Zayn Malik.
It also was recently revealed that the storied producer will be honored at the 2018 Global Spin Awards, earning the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. Jermaine Dupri will also be honored at the ceremony as the recipient of the Breaking Barriers Award. The 2018 awards will air exclusively on REVOLT TV on Thursday, February 15th.
