Update 12:00PM ET: Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown, joined by New York City Police Commissioner James P. O'Neill, today (December 14) announced that a Queens County grand jury has returned a five-count indictment charging two Long Island men with the fatal May 2015 shooting of rapper Chinx.
The District Attorney identified the defendants as Jamar Hill, 26, of Valley Stream, and Quincy Homere, 32, of Baldwin. The two defendants are presently awaiting arraignment before Queens Supreme Court Justice Kenneth J. Holder on a five-count indictment charging them with one count each of second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. If convicted, they each face up to 25 years to life in prison.
Hill and Homere were already behind bars on unrelated charges when they were booked in the May 2015 murder. According to NY Daily News, at the time of the murder, Hill was out on bail in connection to a July 2014 armed robbery case in Queens. He was among three men who held up a victim with a shotgun and robbed him of his case and cell phone. Homere, meanwhile, was previously charged with robbing a Long Island bank on Nov. 9, 2015.
If convicted on the murder charges of Pickens, Hill and Homere can each face up to 25 years to life in prison.
