Jaden Smith's debut album, SYRE, may have been three years in the making, but the 19-year-old is far from ready to take a break from creating now that he's shared his music with the masses.

During a recent sit-down with Billboard, the multifaceted artist reflects on the process behind SYRE, as well as reveals that there will be an accompanying film component to the album as well.

The album, which is extremely introspective by nature, features Smith taking on the character of Syre (which is also his middle name in real life) and exploring themes relating to coming of age.

Similar to the album, the forthcoming short film will follow a similar narrative, with visuals helping to bring his personal journey of becoming a young adult to life.

"That's where SYRE's true colors [lie]," he says, after revealing he's working on a movie component. "It's an actual film that plays out that has characters. There's no rapping, really, in the whole movie. It's just about the story of Syre."

While Smith hasn't yet shared a formal release date, he has shared his forthcoming creative plans, such as collaborating with K-pop acts and releasing new versions of his songs in various languages.

"I'm exploring all genres [of music]," Smith added. "I'm going to get some of my favorite artists on some songs with me, so that's going to be the start of my K-pop career."
