Justin Timberlake has officially been announced as the headliner for the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show.

As a result of the decision to enlist the singer to perform, fourteen years after his involvement in Janet Jackson's controversial performance, Timberlake now has the most individual appearances on stage during the big game's halftime show.

The singer previously performed at Super Bowls XXXV and XXXVII, with this upcoming third performance setting the new record.

Timberlake made the announcement in a clip alongside Jimmy Fallon, with the two jokingly going back and forth to make the big reveal.

NBC will be airing Super Bowl LII on Feb. 4, 2018, with the game set to take place at Minnesota's U.S. Bank Stadium.
