#REVOLTMusicConference 2017 | Sean “Diddy” Combs welcomes the next generation of entrepreneurs

The Chairman hosts a cocktail reception alongside the mayor of Miami Beach.

The fourth annual REVOLT Music Conference is officially underway, with the first day already one for the memory books.

Following a day filled to the brim with networking opportunities, the #BeHeard additions and the #BeHeard final show, on Thursday (Oct. 13), not even a brief downpour of rain could dampen the positive energy REVOLT is renowned for fostering.

On Thursday (Oct. 13), the inaugural day of the conference commenced, featuring an opening ceremony with Sean "Diddy" Combs, Chairman of REVOLT Media & TV, happily welcoming those in attendance, alongside REVOLT's Vice Chairman Andre Harrell and CEO Roma Khanna.

"This is where the dream begins," Khanna exclaimed, in between roaring applause.

Khanna soon introduced King Combs, the first performer to kick off the festivities and set the tone for the conference, performing a medley of his hits, including "F—k the Summer Up" and "Type Different."

With those gathered at the Eden Roc resort in Miami partaking in a cocktail hour courtesy of Ciroc, Chairman Combs set the intention for the weekend, encouraging those in attendance who are in the building to take advantage of the multi-faceted offerings that RMC has in store.

"It's important that y'all know that you guys are the future and I want to say thank you for taking responsibility," he exclaimed. "Not waiting for the government to come help you. Not waiting for anybody to give you anything. Empowering yourself with the knowledge and you will be successful if you continue that. Give yourself a round of applause for that."

Combs also took a moment to stand in solidarity with those impacted by the recent hurricanes, explaining how Miami is his home and now is the time to come together to help the city rebuild.

"We couldn't imagine hosting this event anywhere but Miami," Combs continued. "Make some noise for Miami, yo. We have come here to support Miami. We've just been through a very dramatic and tragic hurricane, and now that it's over, it's all about the rebuild."

Following a brief introduction full of inspiration and well wishes for the memorable weekend ahead, Combs introduced Mayor of Miami Beach, Philip Levine.

"We have a mayor in Miami that cares about the people, cares about what you guys are trying to do with your lives and has been so supportive," Combs began, with Levine joining him on stage.

"By the way, this is the greatest entrepreneur we have ever seen, Sean Combs," the mayor stated. "Now Sean has gotten every honor our city could possibly have. He's got more keys to the city than I have in my pocket. And he deserves every one of them."

With both in agreement that the city of Miami is the perfect place to play host to such a special conference, the mayor went on to explain why RMC is always welcome, as well as thanked Combs and REVOLT for giving back to the city following the hurricane.

While the fourth annual RMC continues this weekend, with ample exclusives on the way, we invite you to take a moment to help continue REVOLT's efforts in coming to the aid of those impacted by the recent hurricanes. For more information on how to get involved, please visit here.
