Following the success of "Atlanta" on FX, which picked up two awards at the Golden Globes this past weekend, Donald Glover has singed on an extensive partnership with the network.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Glover signed on an "overall deal" with FX Productions to develop more shows on the network and its streaming services.
"Donald is a remarkable artist, effortlessly shifting from actor to writer, producer, director, and musician to create one amazing project after another," Nick Grad, co-boss of Original Programming at FX Networks and FX Productions, said in a press release today (January 12). "Atlanta was just the beginning, the breakout comedy of the year and a series revered as much for its originality as its honest look at the experience of being aspiring, young, and black in that legendary city. We're proud to partner with Donald in an overall deal that will allow him to continue turning his creative vision into incredible television."
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but the award winning actor and rapper will continue to write, produce, direct and star in the critically-acclaimed “Atlanta” series, which will return for its second season in 2018. The previously announced second season was originally expected to arrive this year, however Glover’s busy schedule, which includes playing Lando Calrissian in the upcoming "Star Wars" film centered on the character Han Solo.
