As Tuesday (September 13) marks 20 years since the untimely passing of Tupac Shakur, a new clip from the long-awaited biopic depicting his life, “All Eyez On Me,” hit online depicting one of the most infamous moments in hip-hop history.

Starring Demetrius Shipp Jr. as the legendary rapper and activist, the leaked clip finds the actor portraying Shakur during one of most dramatic moments in the late figure’s career: the 1994 shooting inside Quad Recording Studios.

Although it has since been taken down, the leaked clip captures the 1994 shooting inside the lobby of Quad Recording Studios in Manhattan, where on the night of November 30th, the “California Love” rapper was shot five times and robbed of $40,000 worth of jewelry while on his way to record a feature verse. He was rushed to Manhattan’s Bellevue Hospital after the incident and had emergency surgery. The next morning, 3 hours post-op, Pac checked out of the hospital against doctor’s orders to answer to sexual abuse charges stemming from a separate incident.

Also seen in the clip is rapper Maino, who plays one of the shooters that attacked Pac. Back in March, the “Harder Than Them” MC spoke on his role in the film, describing it to REVOLT as “integral to the movie.”

“The role is not a huge role, but I’ll tell you one thing, you won’t ever forget me in the movie,” he said. Judging by the clip above, Maino was telling the truth.

Directed by Benny Boom, the forthcoming “All Eyez On Me” will feature a star-studded cast that in addition to Demetrius Shipp Jr. and Maino, also includes Danai Gurira as Afeni Shakur, Jamie Hector as Mutulu Shakur, Lauren Cohan as Leila Steinberg, and more.

The film is expected to arrive this fall.
