Kanye West pops up in this new Francis And The Lights video

"Friends" song is all falsetto, snaps and synths.

This song "Friends" is not to be confused with Chance the Rapper's "Summer Friends" which does, indeed, feature Francis And The Lights.

And Francis And The Lights are not to be confused with Bon Iver, even though the two lead singers sound alike.

This can be proven because both Francis Starlite (lead singer of the aforementioned Lights) and Justin Vernon (lead singer of Bon Iver) both appear in this video. At the same time. In the same shot. Doing synchronized choreography. On an empty soundstage.

Kanye West appears in the video too, but he doesn't do any more dancing than a simple body bop. In fact, as soon as he starts to mouth the words to the track, the camera pans away. And when it returns to him, he hits the last dramatic step as if he's been moving the whole time, but we know he hasn't and that's okay because he's Kanye and these are the conditions he probably demands when he agrees to make a cameo in your video.

Kanye and Vernon have collaborated before; you can hear them on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy's "Monster" and "Lost In the World," and on Yeezus' "Hold My Liquor" and "I'm In It."

And the track is a very pretty blend on Starlite's falsetto, finger-snaps, vacillating synths, and a big punctuating drum.

Watch and listen below.

In addition to Starlite and Vernon, "Friends" was co-written with Rostam Batmanglij (formerly of Vampire Weekend), BJ Burton and Aaron Lammer. The five also produced the song alongside Ariel Rechtshaid, Cashmere Cat, and Benny Blanco.
