Spotlight on REVOLT: Reasn "American Dream"

Get to know the upstart and check out his video in rotation on REVOLT.

Reasn, born in Columbia, Missouri, grew up performing in church and at local talent shows. Singing, songwriting and performing became a passion that he dedicated most of his time to while growing up. He struggled with a learning disability in school and found music to be the main driver of confidence and success.

In 2014, he connected with producers Ron "Neff-U" Feemster (Michael Jackson, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Jay Z), Devrim "DK" Karaoglu (Lana Del Rey, Mylie, Marina & The Diamonds) and Sir Issac Da Inventor. A year later he released a couple of singles, "Better" and "Blue Flame," which garnered buzz online across the blogs. His debut EP, 70 West, hit close to 1 million streams.

His music is a hybrid of various elements. With dominant guitar riffs over 808s and snare drums, groove-inducing R&B and just the right amount of classic rock nostalgia, he brings together all these works into a hip-hop sound. Reasn's music is powered by a story of self-discovery, life, love, struggles and hope, exposing the demons that we all face within us.
