Republicans put out early fire after white elevators sign went viral

Melania Trump's speech mishap undoubtedly made the biggest headlines after the first day of the Republican National Convention. But prior to her plagiarism rap social media was buzzing over a peculiar sign placed inside the Quicken Loans Arena. A Wall Street Journal reporter posted the picture on Twitter with this caption: "Spotted at the #RNCinCLE. I'm told it's being replaced for obvious reasons."

The spotted that took place was a sign that directed convention attendees to the white elevators. To be fair, according to reports, there is also red and blue elevators, in keeping with the patriotic color scheme of the convention. But a white elevators sign during this particular fractured time in our country amid shootings by police and of police, invoked uneasy feelings of Jim Crowe laws.
