Welcome to JamRoc…
Jay Z’s Roc Nation army has expanded, and the latest name joining the roster is everyone’s favorite femcee, Rapsody.
The North Carolina rapper, who released a series of heralded efforts through 9th Wonder’s Jamla Records (The Idea of Beautiful, Beauty and the Beast), announced her new deal with Roc Nation during the 2016 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, which was streamed by Jay Z’s own Tidal service over the weekend. Relaying the message on her Instagram account, Rapsody confirmed the new venture will also include her partnership with Jamla.
Jay Z’s trusty engineer Young Guru further confirmed the news, offering his congrats on Twitter.
The new deal comes after Rapsody closed out a banner 2015, following her highly praised appearance on Kendrick Lamar’s "Complexion (A Zulu Love)" off the Grammy-winning album To Pimp A Butterfly.
