The trailer for Sharon Jones' documentary will give you all the feels

Film follows funk-soul singer's cancer diagnosis

Jacob Blickenstaff

Funk-soul singer Sharon Jones has nabbed her own documentary, and the Barbara Kopple-directed film follows the Dap Kings frontwoman in 2013, the year she not only planned to release her fifth studio album Give the People What They Want with her band and embark on a tour, but the year she was also diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. So expect it to make you feel all the things.

"Sharon's voice is like a train; you better get out the way."

"A female James Brown."

"She doesn't have a radio hit, but she has a huge audience all over the world."

"They said I was too fat, too Black, too short, and too old."

"I have no eyebrows, but I'll be lookin' cute!"

In May, it was announced that Miss Sharon Jones! would receive theatrical, digital, and on-demand releases.
