Jersey club music has been a prominent and internationally known phenomenon for as long as 20 plus years. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Brick Bandits crew, and now R3LL, this movement has continued to live on in the most exciting ways. One of those ways includes the evolution and shift of sound.
Following his Dim Mak EP Visions, R3LL has called on several heavy-hitting producers to serve up their respective remixes of "All 2 U," "Visions," "Daydream" and "Down" into one collection. All of the above delivered respectful homages to the classic Jersey wave, especially the mysterious producing entity known as GITCHII. The "All 2 U" remix, GITCHII presents is a melodic composition that incorporates a bass-heavy style, paying homage to Jersey club music, while adding a new hip-hop, electronic feel. This remix made entirely sense musically and collaboration considering it was an easy fit per GITCHII.
"We met with R3LL at SXSW when we played together at Dim Mak's 20th Anniversary party. R3LL shared our mutual passion for club-oriented music (specifically Baltimore and Jersey) and we all quickly hit it of," the remixers told REVOLT. "It only made sense to get into the studio and cut up 'All 2 U.' Our remix takes the vocal chops of club music and brings it into the hip-hop space."
And what wonderful musical space that is considering GITCHII refused the distinctive sound of Jersey club music with a new diverse sound. Be sure to check out the premiered song below and take a listen to the entire Visions Remix EP.
