Freddie Gibbs remains behind bars in France following an arrest last week for charges stemmed from an alleged rape committed in 2015.
As reported by FACT Mag, the Indiana-bred rapper will spend at least another week in France after his extradition hearing, for the said charge, was postponed. Gibbs was arrested on June 2 in Toulouse, France stemmed from a European warrant issued in Austria that notes an alleged rape charge that took place in 2015.
According to the AFP, Gibbs's lawyer Michael Malta held a hearing, stating, "[Gibbs] categorically denies the accusations made against him in Austria. He is even very surprised that Austria could act on this a year later, while he was on tour in Europe."
Last week, another lawyer for Gibbs, Scott Leemon dismissed the "trumped up charges," stating: "Freddie Gibbs adamantly denies the allegations that have been levied against by Austrian authorities. It makes you wonder why it took almost a year for Austrian officials to bring these charges."
