If you never managed to get your hands on a pair of Yeezy Boost 750s or 350s last year, take solace in knowing that you'll soon get another opportunity to snag some new products from a Kanye West x Adidas collaboration.
The sportswear company announced Wednesday (June 29) that it will be expanding its partnership with 'Ye beyond the coveted sneakers. Their newly-developed athleisure line, creatively titled adidas + KANYE WEST, will be a "YEEZY branded entity" and include "footwear, apparel and accessories for all genders across street and sport." Being touted as the most significant partnership ever "between a non-athlete and an athletic brand," retail stores could also be in the works, though the company has yet to confirm that.
Comparing his on-stage action to that of athletes, 'Ye said, "I'm not just a musician singing in front of a mic, we are running, jumping, we're getting hurt. We're in the same arenas that the ballplayers play in," according to the Wall Street Journal.
Eric Liedtke, adidas CMO, said in a press release, "Kanye is a true creator who has the ability to see things others don't. We are excited and honored to build on this partnership, and eagerly look forward to defining the future together. With adidas + KANYE WEST we are exploring new territories by opening up the sports world to Kanye's creativity. This is what adidas has always been about, empowering creators to create the new."
