It’s been way too long since the release of Because the Internet (2013) and STN MTN / Kauai (2014), but with news of new material from Childish Gambino approaching soon, the timing couldn’t be any better.
Since his last pair of releases, Childish Gambino has been mainly Donald Glover these days, taking up Hollywood by storm thanks to appearances in films like "The Martian," along with shows like his forthcoming FX series Atlanta. But before the dust could settle on his Gambino alias, the rapper has announced a three-day concert experience in Joshua Tree, Calif., which will commence in September, dubbed "Pharos." These shows, taking placing September 2-4, will feature new music and promises to give fans a "full album experience."
Always one to deliver unique music experiences (see the releases of STN MTN and Kauai), Gambino’s announcement arrived via a phone app called "Pharos Earth," which was linked to a tweet sent out by the rapper on Friday (June 17).
Pre-sale for Childish Gambino's shows begins on Friday, June 24 at 9 a.m. PT.
