The King of Pop still reigns supreme.

Tavis Smiley's upcoming book about Michael Jackson, which examines the highs and lows in the final months of the late legend's life, will also receive a television treatment.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the talk show host and author has teamed up with director J.J. Abrams (of Lost, Star Wars, and Star Trek fame) to turn his book Before You Judge Me: The Triumph and Tragedy of Michael Jackson's Last Days into a TV event series.

Though a network has not been announced yet, Warner Bros. Television is expected to shop it to broadcast, cable, premium cable and streaming services.

Smiley and Abrams have previously worked together; in April 2015, the men teamed up to develop another event series based on the author's best-seller Death of a King: The Real Story of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Final Year.
