Watch Alicia Keys' Refugee Crisis-Inspired Short Film "Let Me In"

Singer-actress shines light on the emergency.

We all know Alicia Keys best as a singer, but let's not forget her roles as an actress and advocate. She's most recently combined the latter two with Let Me In, a new short film that reimagines the refugee crisis on America's shores. And as today (June 20) is World Refugee Day, she's shining a light at just the right time.

In the 12-minute clip, Keys plays a mother of two who seeks refuge in Mexico after her home of Los Angeles falls under attack.

The film comes to a close with hard-hitting truths, and a plea: "There are more refugees in the world today than at any point in history. And more than half of them are children. We demand our government act with love."

Keys also served as executive producer of Let Me In and her latest song, "Hallelujah," helps soundtrack the film.
