The two have been in a legal battle since 2014.

In a seemingly never-ending battle between Kesha and Dr. Luke, the super-producer has refused to let the singer perform at the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday.

Dr. Luke’s label Kemosabe Records, a subsidiary of Sony, still has control over Kesha’s music rights and, according to TMZ, once he got word that her act was going to make a “statement” about their legal battle, he nixed it.

TMZ reports that show producers are still hoping for a deal to be made. Kesha could technically appear if she does not perform any of her own material.

The singer sued Dr. Luke in Los Angeles in 2014 claiming sexual and emotional abuse; the producer than countersued for breach of contract. Last month, a New York judge rejected the majority of Kesha’s claims. She and a new lawyer are now planning to file a motion that revives the original Los Angeles lawsuit.
