Prince's Doctor Came To Deliver Test Results The Day The Singer Died

An unfortunate ironic twist.

The doctor who had treated Prince twice in the weeks leading up to his death showed up to the singer’s house to deliver test results the same morning the musician died, according to the New York Times.

According to a police affidavit, Michael T. Schulenberg, who practices family medicine, had seen Prince on April 7, the day he cancelled a show in Atlanta, and on April 20, the day before the icon was found in an elevator of his home. During the visits, Dr. Schulenberg ran tests and prescribed medication for an undisclosed ailment, and had arrived at Prince’s home to reveal the results.

Though an autopsy report revealed that traces of the painkiller Percocet were found in Prince's system, he was also planning to be treated for opioid dependency from a California doctor, Howard Kornfeld, whose son Andrew initially discovered Prince collapsed. Andrew, who works for his father’s treatment center, had flown in overnight from San Francisco to get Prince enrolled in treatment.
