Investigation Continues In Death Of Prince

"We are going to leave no stone unturned with this."

Authorities spoke today (April 22) for the first time since Prince died and confirmed that an investigation into the pop superstar's death continues.

The local sheriff's office revealed that the last time the singer was seen alive was Wednesday evening and that he was later discovered slumped over in an elevator at his Paisley Park estate alone.

An autopsy was conducted on Friday morning, which officials said could take takes or weeks to secure conclusive results. In the interim, Prince's body has been turned over to his family. In the aftermath of his passing, reports suggest that Prince recently overdosed on painkillers that he was taking to treat a hip ailment.

Officials denied suicide as a cause for death and also said there was no trauma found on his body.

"We are going to leave no stone unturned with this and make sure the public knows what happened," Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson told media.
