Nicki Minaj’s brother, 37-year-old Jelani Maraj, has been indicted on child rape charges, including felony predatory sexual assault against a child, felony sexual conduct against a child under age 13, sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child. He faces 15 years to life if found guilty.

Maraj, accompanied by lawyers Benjamin Brafman and Andrea Zellan, appeared in Nassau County Court on Tuesday (April 19th) and pled not guilty. He is free on $100,000 cash or bond, according to bossip.com.

Long Island police arrested Maraj late last year after the alleged victim, an unidentified 12-year-old girl, said she’d been raped by him multiple times for numerous months, including a final rape just the day before Maraj’s arrest. After deliberating for about a month, the grand jury decided there was enough evidence to charge Maraj with sexually abusing the tween girl.

When reached by Bossip for comments, Brafman, Maraj’s lawyer, responded: “We’re not commenting on the Maraj case, ok?”
