The Last Shadow Puppets Celebrate Sophomore LP Release In NYC

A spectacular at Webster Hall.

Domino Records

NEW YORK, NY—I wish The Last Shadow Puppets had back-to-back shows in NYC this week, so I could attend ALL of them. Their performance at Manhattan's Webster Hall last night (April 11) was amazingly energetic, eye-catching and not to mention unforgettable. Granted I've been a huge fan of Alex Turner and Miles Kane for some many years now, but there is absolutely no denying these two can rock a stage.

Last month the duo kicked off their world tour in support of their latest release, Everything You've Come To Expect, making it the first time in eight years that the two have set out on the road together. The album has gained much success since its April 1 release, and even debuted at No. 1 on the UK albums chart. There's no doubt these two have set off on a roaring start.

Upon arriving at the venue, fans were waiting in abundance for Turner and Kane to start their set. Bright red and orange shades lit up the stage as violin strings softly filled the room, indicating the show was about to start. As the two artists made their way to the stage, fans roared with excitement. It was an incredible feeling to see so much energy and thrill in one room, and it was something that you don't witness too often.

Their performance started off with "Aviation," the opening track from their latest project, and was followed by a series of popular hits, including like "The Age of Understatement," "Calm Like You" and "The Element of Surprise."

The highlight was TLSP singing "Meeting Place" and "Calm Like You" together (both tracks from their debut album), which were undoubtedly fan favorites and resulted in the many voices that chimed in throughout the crowd to help singalong.

Get a glimpse of TLSP's performance from last night as they sing "Miracle Aligner" and "Calm Like You" in the video below.
