Way back in December, Sir Elton John revealed to noisey.com what a fan of Young Thug he is, even going as far as to compare him to John Lennon. For the often controversial Atlanta MC that is a mighty compliment and now it seems the two have formed a bond, if reports are to be believed.

Initially reported by The Fader, Sir Elton and Thugger were given the opportunity to converse over FaceTime, arranged by Lyor Cohen. The meeting went so well that John sent over an instrumental which has led to the two working together on a remix of John’s "Rocket Man."

Released in 1972, "Rocket Man" appeared on John’s Honky Chateau and told the story of an astronaut who is outer space and missing his wife and Earth. The song has grown to be a standout in John’s catalogue and his live performances. A biopic, of John's life and career, currently in the works is also using the title.

A source close to Fader revealed that Thugger will not be rapping on the new tune, but will instead sing, also stating, "it's really ambient and amazing."
