Kareem “Biggs” Burke Is On A New Wave With ‘Fourth Of November’ Line

Burke talks to REVOLT about his new fashion venture.

The marriage of art and design takes place in the latest venture by co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records Kareem “Biggs” Burke.

After spending years behind the scenes of the Roc-A-Fella empire with Jay Z and Dame Dash, the Harlem native is opening up a new chapter in his career, through a brand new clothing collection Fourth of November.

"Fourth Of November” is our play on denim," he tells REVOLT during a recent fashion show and showcase for the line in Atlanta. "This is my baby right now and I kind of took hold of it and I’m making sure everything is right, from A to Z."

Detailing his involvement with the apparel line, Burke says it all started through a friend. "A friend of mine brought it to my attention about this opportunity and he told me about the name and what it meant and that name Fourth Of November being this love story because the head designer and head of production parents met in Ecuador on a street called "Fourth of November,"" he says.

"[So] it was this love story that created art and design that equal fourth of November and what they wanted to do with denim, I said that I had to be a part of this."

The Fourth of November collection is available now at Footaction as well as the brand’s website. Plans are currently in place for a Macy’s drop in June.

In addition to his latest venture, Burke also credited his good friend Emory Jones for helping him with the line. “One of the most important relationships I have is probably with Emory Jones, a lot of people call him Vegas, and Ty Ty (Tyran "Ty Ty" Smith).”

“Everything that I do with this apparel line, Emory is all over it. He’s doing his Roc Nation thing and I’m doing what we doing over here, but we collaborate on everything together. So we got a lot of things building right now and we’re gonna bring a whole new wave of apparel to the marketplace.”
