The second iteration of G.O.O.D. Fridays came and, um, went after Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo dropped in February. But as the saying goes, when one door closes another opens. So barging in that door left ajar is A$AP Mob with Wavy Wednesdays.
Now stretching past the two month mark with over 15 records to date, the Harlem collective’s weekly offering has been firing a chockablock of booming bangers. This chock-full collection features collaborations with everyone from Drake to Danny Brown, Migos and Playboi Carti, among many others; including enough heat to make for the perfect self-arranged follow-up to Lord$ Never Worry.
Brimming with everything from pothole-rattling bangers (“Trap Anthem,” “Thumbin’”) to clever remixes (“Cut It,” “Hella Hoes”) and audible-caffeine bursts (“I Don’t Care,” “Again”), the Wavy Wednesdays collection is everything it should (and needs to) be. Beyond the music, the series stands strong because of the simple fact that it’s a united crew coming together to drop new music week after week. What other crew is doing that?
More than series though, Wavy Wednesdays is a moment — one that we should all take a minute to soak up. So as we wait for Cozy Boyz, Vol. 1 and projects from A$AP Twelvyy, A$AP Nast, A$AP Ant, and yes, Ferg’s own Always Strive and Prosper, let’s take a look at the unofficial album the group has given fans through this very wavy collection.
A$AP Rocky “Wu Tang Forever (Remix)”
Playboi Carti & Uno “Vlone Thug”
