EPMD Celebrate 30 Years In Business At SXSW

Parrish Smith and Keith Murray held it down for an absentee Erick Sermon.

Many people refer to the Golden Era of hip-hop music like it took place in a distant galaxy, hundreds of years ago. The truth is hip-hop history is living and breathing, all you have to do is look for it if you want to be a part of it yourself. This past weekend in Austin, Texas is a prefect example.

One of the most influential duos of all time, EPMD AKA Erick and Parrish Making Dollars, first linked in 1986 and it was that special moment in time that was honored at the closing of SXSW.

Alas tragedy stuck and Erick Sermon wasn't available because he lost his grandmother on the morning of the show, so instead Hit Squad family member Keith Murray was tapped to hold down the stage with Parrish. Murray always keeps the crowd alive with his energy and it was no different on 6th Sreet in Austin on Sunday night. Take a look below.
