The New York Times Magazine’s first-ever Music Issue is out today, and along with the debut, the Times has released two new videos on its VR app. First up is Los Angele’s indie group The Internet, recording inside frontwoman Syd Tha Kyd’s home studio and the second is a 360-degree interactive visual from Run the Jewels for their new song “Crown.”

The immersive video, directed by Oscar-nominee Peter Martin, is intended to play with any type od VR headset for “the effect is immediate and enveloping, placing the viewer directly into the unfolding scenario surrounded on all sides by the story’s characters,” a press release notes. “The video illuminates the poignant and powerful dual narratives of Killer Mike and El-P, bringing their verses to life across a stark, cinematic landscape.”

The NYT VR app is available to download for both iOS and Android, as the introspective version of “Crown” will also be rolled out on Facebook and YouTube’s 360 platforms next month.
