After setting the world ablaze with her Super Bowl 50 performance and news of her 2016 Formation World Tour, Beyoncé has launched a fund to benefit the children of Flint, Michigan.
In addition to performing a show at Detroit’s Ford Field during a world tour, Bey, as part of her #BeyGOOD initiative, and United Way are partnering with the Community Foundation of Greater Flint to “create a fund that will address long-term developmental, education, nutrition and health needs of the children affected by the Flint water crisis.”
The aim was detailed in a statement by the singer’s team on Sunday (February 7).
Bey's contribution to Flint arrives after TIDAL, where she also serves as co-owner, recently donated $1.5 million to Black Lives Matter and several other local and national social justice organizations.
Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour will make a stop at Detroit’s Ford Field on May 29, marking her first Detroit show since July 2013.
The Formation World Tour kicks off April 27th. Check out the full tour dates here.
