As evidenced by the recent rise and buzz of acts like Kodak Black, Zoey Dollaz, and Steph LeCor, there’s a current renaissance taking place in Florida. Adding to that list of burgeoning talent is none other than South Florida’s own, Kent Jones.

With a local hit in “Don’t Mind” and an official We The Best stamp of approval from DJ Khaled, the Florida native has his city talking and it won’t be long until the rest of the country takes notice.

While his skills as an MC is evident, Jones is also a skilled musician at heart. “I’m a musician, first and foremost, and then an artist,” he tells REVOLT. “I’m very musically inclined.” Utilizing lessons learned from jazz professors in school, Jones has applied everything into his own musical creation. Having worked under the wings of Cool & Dre and produced on albums like Game’s Documentary 2, Lil Wayne’s Free Weezy Album, and Curren$y’s Saturday Night Car Tunes, among others, his musical inclination certainly deserves a spotlight.

As big plans are in place for the Florida upstart this summer, do some homework and check out Kent Jones’ chat with REVOLT below.
