Prince Charlez releases anxiously awaited debut mixtape, "Black and Gold"

The songwriter behind Rihanna's "Needed Me" steps into the forefront.

Some songwriters stay behind the scenes, and some take a step from behind the curtain to bask in the bright lights of stardom. With his new mixtape titled Black and Gold, Prince Charlez is taking that big step. Produced by Drumma Boy, standout tracks like "Glossy" and "Jewish Mafia" prove what we already know from his previous work.

Making hits is a skill set the few are blessed with. Prince Charlez answered his calling and it's taken him from Compton to ears around the world. A sought-after writer, Prince Charlez has worked with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, TI, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Usher, and more. Most recently, he wrote Rihanna's hit song "Needed Me."
