For everyone that was introduced to Young M.A when her record "Ooouuu" exploded earlier this year, the Brooklyn bad girl's new video "Eat" serves as an undeniable certification that she's more than just one catchy song. She represents hardcore hip-hop in all its glory and splendor with raw, bone-chilling rhymes. She raps defiantly:
"I swear to God I ain't scared of these niggas / Damn, I must really put fear in these niggas / Because they call me a dyke, a faggot, a gay bitch / I ain't shit, that hate shit, that hatred, goddamn / That just make them look less of a man, fam /And to shit on y'all is part of the damn plan."
The visual for "Eat" is five minutes and 45 seconds of pure lyrical craftsmanship: simplistic in its camera shots, location, and edits, but bold and brash in the statements she makes, including discussing everything from being called homosexual slurs to wanting to have a ménage a trois with a cougar and said cougar's daughter.
"'Eat' is basically, you know, a lot of pain and passion at the same time," she said last week at a New York charity drive that was the brainchild of herself, Funkmaster Flex and Vashtie.
"Dealing with this industry and what it comes with, a lot of people don't know. I believe in the music. That's my bread and butter. That's what gets me by. Anytime it's a situation I have to deal with, I put it in the music. I had to let the people know, 'Listen. Don't play with me. This is what I do. At the end day, it is what it is, we eat.'"
M.A is currently eating off a plethora of show dates and told REVOLT she's dropping a brand new video at the top of the year for "Get This Money," one different from the snippet that appears at the end of "Eat."
