The musical and business union between Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine has generated billions of dollars and spawned a seemingly endless catalog of classic music, and as we’ll see in 2017, four nights worth of memories.

Variety reported that HBO has announced “The Defiant Ones,” a four-part docu-series on Dre and Iovine that focuses on their lives from growing up to present day.

“‘The Defiant Ones’ has everything you expect in a great story — drama and humor, tragedy and triumph,” Casey Bloys, HBO’s president of programming, told Variety.

Allen Hughes directed the project and was granted unprecedented access to both moguls, following the tandem individually and separately for three years.

“Allen Hughes takes you on a journey through some of the most important flash points of popular culture, and I’m delighted that we can bring this unforgettable saga to our viewers,” Bloys added.

Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Cube, Bruce Springsteen, U2’s Bono, and Gwen Stefani, who all have worked with Dre and Iovine, are among those will appear in “The Defiant Ones” via interviews. No release date or running time has been revealed as of yet, however HBO promised previously unreleased footage from artists who have collaborated with both Dre and Iovine including NWA, U2, Stevie Nicks, and JJ Fad.
