J. Cole, yes, the one who went double platinum with no features for his last album, is set to release his new project on December 9. 4 Your Eyez Only is the follow-up to the acclaimed 2014 Forest Hills Drive, which was also released on December 9, two years ago.

As he closed day one of the inaugural Meadows Fest in Queens this October, Cole told the audience it would be his last performance for a while — a hint to discerning fans that new music was on the way.

The rapper pulled a Beyoncé with Forest Hills, which debuted at #1. While a week is a bit more notice than the surprise release of the former project, there’s actually no mention of 4 Your Eyez Only on the social media platforms of Cole World himself. It’s a move that shows Jermaine is all about the music — not the celebrity.

4 Your Eyez Only is available for pre-order on iTunes.
