With a month away from what could be a sweep at this year’s Grammy Awards, Kendrick Lamar visits The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to debut a powerful new track “Untitled 2.”

The track borrows its opening sample of lyrics from “Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard On You,” which Lamar collaborated with funk legend George Clinton, before he references “I” and explodes the record to new spoken-word territory.

“Wrote this song lookin’ at a broke home, baby/ You know the poverty stricken, the little broke born baby/ Someone said Kendrick American, they sure is crazy/ And I said, why?/ Then he looked me in the eye/ And said, ‘Homie you messed up/ You’re beggin’ on good luck/ You’re wishin’ for miracles/ Livin’ through shit, you’re cryin’ hysterical.'"

In addition to “Untitled 2,” which follows the 2014 “Untitled,” Lamar also spoke on his To Pimp A Butterfly 11 Grammy nominations and why he was happy he didn’t surpass Michael Jackson’s Thriller record of 13 nominations.

"I can't fathom being as great as Michael without putting out the work," Lamar told Fallon. "So 11 is perfect. He's the legendary."
