The legend of Max B is all on everyone’s minds, so it was only right that Sir Wavey Crockett brought back the wave this week via an unreleased gem.

Aptly titled “My Wave,” the song was falsely reported as an official response to Kanye West and his newly announced WAVES LP_, however producer Dame Grease noted on Twitter that the track is more of a gift to the fans.

As it turns out, Grease pieced together vintage verses from Biggaveli with Pharcyde and J. Dilla’s “Running” instrumental.

Kanye’s usage of the term WAVES on his new album led a big discussion on Twitter, earning response from Wiz Khalifa, among others. Soon after the announcement, it wasn’t long before Ye shouted out the Wavey One in a separate tweet.

In addition to having an unreleased record out for the streets, Max B is also going to be hitting the small screens next month when his “Waves” documentary, directed by DJ Scoob Doo, arrives on, you guessed it, February 11 (same day as Kanye’s LP).

Check out the trailer for the “Waves” doc below.
