The movie was expected to rake in big bucks, but stumbled out the gate.

Zac Efron tried to keep the beat moving in his new movie, "We Are Your Friends." The problem, however, is the crowd wasn't feeling him—or the flick. The film flopped with earning of $1.8 million over the weekend, which was much lower than the high-end predictions of $10 million and also, per THR, the worst opening for a movie debuting in over 2,000.

Conversely, "Straight Outta Compton" picked up $13.2 million to continue its reign at number one.

The finger pointing over "We Are Your Friends" seems to be taking place, with a studio executive explaining it was a "passion project for Zac Efron, and we belive in him."

Translation: Not cool, bro.
