Dublin’s native son Rejjie Snow, recruits the Canadian beatmaker Kaytranda and U.K. pop vocalist Rae Morris for the woozy boogie ballad “Blakkst Skn.”

Joining forces with London director Ian Pons Jewell, the hard-hitting single now sees to a darkly humorous and artistically surreal visual. Creating a timeline based off a “powerful daydream” Snow had, he explained to The FADER, “I saw a lady who for some reason I noticed had a black face but her bottom half was white. As I began to ponder I asked her ‘hey lady, why is yo skin so black?’ She simply replied, ‘the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice.’ So I wrote the song that evening.”

Known for his hallucinatory imagination, Snow credits his real-time interactions and weird visions for his drift of double-entendre imagery. “I feel it’s actually that video I’ve always wanted to make,” says Rejjie.

It’s just the eye-full of bizarre symbolism you would expect to match the synth-soaked track. Watch it below.
