The 2016 Grammy Awards nominations were announced this morning (December 7), and let’s just say, aside from Kendrick Lamar’s fan excitement, Twitter didn’t hold back from sharing their thoughts. With the most notable reactions drawing from Future being snubbed, Kamasi Washington left out of the jazz category, Drake nominated for his dis track and Taylor Swift nabbing seven nominations, there’s a lot to be said about the upcoming ceremony.
For starters, congratulatory's were in order, as celebrities thanked fans and saluted fellow musicians.
Congrats to all my #GrammyNominee comrades. That's a big accomplishment.— ErykahBadoula (@fatbellybella) December 7, 2015
It's awesome to be recognized.
But of course not everyone expressed the same thoughts and gratitude. Known for his impressive instrumental arrangement on Kendrick Lamar's TPAB and his contribution to Flying Lotus' previous project, jazz composer Kamasi Washington seemed to have missed the nomination crop.
Along with Future hive for not getting any recognition.
So are we all gonna just sit here and act like the nigga of 2015 didn't get completely ignored by the Grammys ?— A Saleh (@Dude_Br0) December 7, 2015
Future got cheated again, definitely deserved a couple Grammy nominations— WIZRD (@dang_deuce) December 7, 2015
Not to mention, Lupe Fiasco and Wale's Grammy L's.
The only award I ever really cared about was the Grammy...everything I put was nominated. Until today. End Of An Era. Lemme hold that----> L— “DROGAS WAVE” & “BeatNPath” NOW PLAYING (@LupeFiasco) December 7, 2015
"Post to be" is one of the greatest R&B collaborations ever. CB, Jhene, & myself been in the game 10+.— OMARION (@Omarion) December 7, 2015
But quite possibly the most talked about nomination, went to Drake for his diss record to Meek Mill over the summer. Game, set, match.
DRAKE JUST GOT A DISS TRACK NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY. WOW.— Dapper Dan (@D_Breezy_) December 7, 2015
