Shawn James is currently touring as part of "Shawn James & the Shapeshifters," a self-described "swampy blues rock" band, but recently he and bandmate Baker took a detour to a wolf sanctuary in Colorado to record a cover of A.A. Bondy's song "American Heart."

When the video starts you can see Baker (playing the mandolin) staring intently behind them at what turns out to be a huge pack of wolves. Mere bars later, as James starts to sing, the wolves join in.

It's beautiful and eerie, particularly when the pack join in on the phrase "We were raised by wolves."

Check it out below, and catch Shawn James and the Shapeshifters on tour this winter.
